At the age of 19, she published her first debut single Here. It quickly became a hit that both critics and the fans were awed by the song. The song peaked at number 19 at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named it one of the most memorable songs of 2015. She released her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top of the charts on Billboard including Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. This track was special because, based on her Rap-Up interview she did with her listeners were able to connect to her experiences of finding love for themselves, as well as doubting herself. Cara's music is known to contain messages of love self-love, self-love and mental wellness. Her inspiration for her music stems from her personal struggles to overcome mental health problems as well as insomnia. When she spoke to Reuters, she said that her album was "half turbulent" as well as "half perfect". She found growth through therapy and advises people to seek help if necessary. Alessia Cara is a Canadian artist who was born July 11 1996 to parents of Italian descent. She was given a guitar by her parents when she was 10 years old, which sparked her passion for music. At 13 she began performing her favourite songs on YouTube an important media platform in order to demonstrate to the world that she was talented and the determination to be an artist. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her an opportunity to develop and compose her own music.
